Our climate is partly to blame.Not trying to condemn any of these cars and they are pretty great looking hatches we have but has to be aware of potential problems as no car is perfect. As for the differences1. GP1 has IMA hybrid system where as GP5 is a full hybrid. GP5 does good on fuel than GP1 + little more reliable.2. GP1 has CVT transmission and GP5 has DCT.</blockquote>
