Well, I moved to hotmail because I could get an E-mail address with just my name... without any '_'s, and all that... I never got that chance with any other web mail service (free... ;))... I too use the broser to check mail.. like you,, WLM takes care of informing me if ny new mail...

hehe you got a cool nick to go by

A unique nick will always get you an email address, coz it's unique and no one else came up with the same idea. Using real names are no use, always someone out there got it. :(
I'm hoping for a solution get im for both gmail and hotmail at once (yahoo messenger/windows live works for both im services yahoo and hotmail) I can't force friends in gmail to shift to hotmail or those in hotmail to gmail (everyone has their choice). I prefer gmail and those who use windows live messenger are lost to me :(

Qualcomm ceased sales of Eudora on May 1st.

The Paid mode commercial versions of Eudora are no longer available as of May 1st, 2007. The Sponsored mode versions of Eudora continue to be available for download. An open source version of Eudora® is being developed by Mozilla and will be free of charge.

Eudora got acquired by Mozilla Foundation.

[in netspeak: eudora got pwned by mozilla ]

So why won't you use something like Pidgin... Register your gmail address as a .net passport... Tada! You can use your single gmail id to chat with pals that use gtalk (or simply gmail) and WLM and Yahoo.. ('cause MSN ppl can chat with yahoo too.. ne) ;)

First, I didn't know that any thing other than @hotmail.com could be used with windows live messenger. So thanks for informing me. :)

But still the problem stays, Let's say I signed an account using a gmail account, I can use it to chat with friends using WLM and yahoo, but I can't access people using gmail at the same time (chat or view contact list). It's a problem with the protocol. To access gmail buddies, I'll have to use gmail/Google Talk or a seperate account in pidgin. (I deleted pidgin and installed GTalk few days ago.)
    passport > WLM > hotmail/yahoo buddies
    gmail > Gtalk/gmail > gmail buddies

what I want is something like this:
    service(protocol) > client > hotmail/yahoo/gmail :(
just like yahoo is accesible with WLM and hotmail is accesible with yahoo messenger.

I'll be using only one email account. But still I need to access two protocols which are incompatible with each other, needing sperate clients :(

Well, I don't think microsoft will wish to make WLM users to cross chat with Gmail... Mmm.... yeah, u shd hv seperate accounts in pidgin, but both with the same address ne... So only one address.. and can chat with all ur buddies...

Even through AMD can unleash snakes into intel's top secret research labs (dark side of AMD ) I can't do anything to m$. :(

I'll keep with gmail and forget hotmail buddies for now. They will have to convert to gmail to chat with me. Maybe if I change heart, I'll reinstall pidgin and set 2 accounts.

Thanks for your time chamitha (or should i call you by your new nick) :) :)

    :D :D

    from wikipedia:
A pidgin is a simplified language that develops as a means of communication between two or more groups who do not share a common language, in situations such as trade. Pidgins are not the native language of any speech community, but are instead learned as second languages.[2]

no, i don't speak in pidgin languages coz I can speak english and many in this world also can. :P
