What exactly do you mean by illegal content? If you include links to pirated software, movies and MP3s, those will constitute more than half of the threads.
Rest of it is mostly chatter and nonsense.. really, there is less than 5% of stuff worthwhile reading...

The artists release their songs to the broadcasting companys and file sharing sites(eg.forums) to make them popular.They get the cash from the sponsors and they dont care the shit about who downloads and spreads it all over the net.
The TV series are not illegal content. They are aired on a channel and later comes in downloadable formats.
Most of these formats make money out of advertising and they have no intention of selling them to the public.If they try to sell it someone will rip it off.That is why in Russia they release the R5 copy of movie.
I'm not being a hypocrite. I just wanted to help GT ayya.I saw people going talking on those unwanted threads having illegal content(eg.PTC, Bux, Porn, Advertising, etc.

So In your point of view ILLEGAL material means ''PTC, Bux, Porn, Advertising'' but posting such items means violating elakiri rules,and GTRZ clearly mentioned that not to post such items in the first place.
One of our artists release an album, how would he feel If he sees that album in here just days after the release free for everyone? That's ILLEGAL in my point of view an as you mentioned I "think from the heart''

I didnt say about albums, I said about singles.I never requested anytype of album on EK.
His idea of illegal is everything EXCEPT the ones he wants.

That shows how little you know about copyright laws and intellectual property rights.Few artists releases their songs to public media like youtube, but many don’t and most songs you find on forums and youtube are illegal copies. Do you know that even recording songs broadcasted over radio is considered illegal in some countries? Your ignorance about music copyrights is unbelievable. I dont want to quote huge paragraphs from legal documents here, because I think most of the ppl here actually knows about music copyright laws even though they break them. But since you don't seem to have any clue, please go through this site and read about it.

What on earth made you think that TV programs are free and ok to copy? TV programs are copyrighted the same way movies and songs are. True, few TV shows are available on the internet (through the broadcaster's site), but not all; and even those are restricted to a specific region. Producers of those TV programs have decided to release them online, but that doesn’t mean all the TV programs are free. Next time when you watch a TV episode pay attention to the credits and copyright notices at the end!.

Looks to me like you are a little confused here.... I think what you wanted to say was *inappropriate* content, not *illegal* content
. Because as i said before, copying and sharing sofwtare, movies, TV episodes and music is considered illegal by law, there is no question about it. Porn is too in SL (but not in all countries); but some of the adult content (non nude), advertising and spam is not exactly illegal perse, rather inappropriate, and not allowed in thus forum. I think you've got those two mixed up... Next time before starting a thread like this please get your facts straight.
