If I have the money, definitely a fully loaded iMac - 24" model. Fully loaded because it will rule out the obstruction of upgrade paths.

Yeah! A mac will always be cool! But, are you gonna buy all those software? eh? no easy downloading of pirated mac versions ne? Orcad, Photoshop n all the rest of it?

Remember, you can install Windows with bootcamp. You will not be missing any of your softwares, or games. But I will only use Windows for gaming. You can always your Parallels to emulate Windows software.

Besides, there are a lot of freeware for Mac OSX.

I don't want to install Tiger. If I buy a new one, I'll most certainly be moving to Leopard, even though the first batch of new iMacs won't be shipping with Leopard.

I'm pretty sure that has a lot to do with the limited number of hardware choices you have with Macs. The driver development is easier when you are only playing with a limited number of hardware makes.
