Vista introduced much better security, but users weren't pleased because the security features were too "in your face." Windows 7 has made some changes that maintain a high level of security while attempting to be less annoying to users. There have also been enhancements to BitLocker, there's better support for biometrics, and there are new enterprise level security features such as AppLocker.
