I had a bet on Sri Lanka's loss last time, but they defined a new respect in me with the last game.

Thus, I hope, they will do it with the Aussie match also. Either way, coolboy, the game of cricket should not be judged by how many games they have won prior nor on the fact that they are no 1 in the world....

take India for an example.. they lost like shit to Bangladesh ! .. which was uncounted for and which was unexpected for.... hence all the reason to believe that Sri Lanka would / could (I don't say "WILL") pull off a victory this time over Aussies.

Many people are excited at the fact that Sri Lanka has reached the finals yet again in the world cup. Naturally, Sri Lankans expect a repetition of the 1996 performance.

This time too, Sri Lanka has sneaked in to the finals, partially thanks to the frolics of Ireland and Bangladesh, which kept more formidable opponents out of Sri Lanka's way.

Any how let's look at both countries records this world cup:

Australia has won all the matches it faced in this world cup, including 7 of 7 in super eights.
Sri Lanka lost against Australia and South Africa in this tournament.

Australia is ruthless; it believes in taking no prisoners. It is clinical in its approach, gritty when fighting back and remorseless in its decapitation of opponents. Having been the best cricket side in the world for some years now, it brooks no failure. It is the champion side. It came to the Caribbean with the intention of defending the title. It believes in its invincibility.

If the team that lost two matches wins the trophy over a team that has consistently been winning not only in this tournament but also in the tests and one-dayers prior to the tournament, then there's something wrong with the tournament regulations!

Therefore its Aussies all the way!

Frankly, what 'iroshan_464' is saying is quite wrong, because we marginally lost to South Africa, which shows that we can still pull out a victory from the jaws of death, and the fact that we lost to Australia was solely because Murali, Vaas and Malinga did not play!

Australia have never played Mali in a ODI match, which means that he would have taken a minimum of 3 wickets in that match. Some of you might say that they would practice against Shaun Tait, but his bowling action isn't necessarily a round - arm action. His one is a mixture of round - arm and under - arm, whereas Malinga has a pure round - arm action, which gives him extra speed and control. Murali has increased his armoury such as bowling the doosra from around the wicket, and the Aussies have never faced such a ball from Murali, which also raises the question as to whether they would have tackled that ball properly!

So, Mr. Coolboy, please think about any matter before you post it!
