Why The Tokyo Olympics Are So Expensive

Before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics were delayed a year by COVID-19, they were already the most expensive summer games. Experts estimate they will cost more than $26 billion. The extra year added at least another $2.8 billion. There's still a chance they might not happen at all.

It is obvious postponing such a scale event would have cost major over runs in budgets, addition they lost all income from spectator tickets.
its the nature of Japan to get into bad situations , world war , nuclear attacks , Tsunamis , earth quicks , nuclear accidents etc however they become a developed nation overcoming all those things ...

I wonder what would happened to Sri Lanka if a single such a major disaster happened here
