Monks chant pirith as Weerawansa continues fast unto death

Buddhist monks chanted pirith for Minister WImal Weerawansa who is on a fast unto death opposite the UN office.

Earlier in the day Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Allahapperuma visited Mr. Weerwansa. He was the only cabinet minister to visit him.

Actor Cyril Wickremage also visited him among others.

A spokesman for the NFF said Mr. Weerwansa was streched out and his condition was stable.

In the evening Mr. Weerwansa had left the location for about 10 minutes and returned, but a party spokesman he had left the location to use the toilet. A Mobile toilet facility has been set up at the location.
