Message: <blockquote data-quote="Radioactive" data-source="post: 16948199" data-attributes="member: 512093">as far as I noticed windows 8.1 is a bit faster than windows 7 I have been using windows 7 for like a couple of years (more than 2+ years not sure how long exactly) so I could clearly see the differences of both OSs. in these areas windows 8.1 is a bit faster/better than windows 7.-resource management (less GPU, Memory consumption but windows 7's aero theme consumes a lot of gpu power just for the OS and windows 8.1 also uses less system memory even after a lot of software are installed)  -file copying is a bit faster-directx 11 games perform much better because of directx11.1 support on windows 8.1 so less stutter and less lags and a bit high frame rate.-shutdown/turn off is a bit faster I found that since windows 8.1 has metro support you can use metro apps from windows store and there are a lot of cool metro apps that can be downloaded and installed on windows just like on google playstore.</blockquote>
