I need to install windows .net framework 3.5 for a certain program, on windows 8 pro version..So when i tried to do it though add features ,it says need to update windows..But the update fails and displays this error 0x800F0906 ..I saw somewhere it may be done by changing a registry value, but when i searched for that registry key i saw, that's missing..COMPUTER/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/POLICIES/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/WINDOWSUPDATE/AU
this is the key i seached for there..and the whole key of COMPUTER/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/POLICIES/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/WINDOWSUPDATE
could not be seen there, some time accidently i may have deleted that..so how can i restore that second whole key..i did that first key restore by copying code to notepad ,saving as .reg format and merged it to registry..could i get the code for second key ,COMPUTER/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/POLICIES/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/WINDOWSUPDATE ,sothat i can restore it..(some settings may be changed,i know..but just need the default key to restore)and is there any other way to avoid this problem and install net framework 3.5 on windows 8..Thanks.
