But u have to have more space on C drive

1GB RAM should be ok. But still, it will not be as fast as XP. Still a lot of paging will happen when you work on half a dozen applications.

But remember, it will be very slow in the first day but it will get better the next day when Vista is done with it's indexing and all those strange things it does secretly

You are going to format C:, right? 15GB should be ok, but Vista will need about 10GB including pagefile and hiberfile. I don't know if you would have enough space to install other softwares. Of course you can install them to another partition (but I don't like that )

1 GB Ram should be ok. But u will not get the supreme experience of Windows Vista. Expand ur C drive and leave space for paging. It should work.
