Windows XP help needed - (Cant play .wmv)

I did a full format for my computer recently and now i cant play .wmv files in either Windows Media Player or KMPlayer. Both players are saying some required codacs are missing. can some one help me in this issue pls..

It's Impossible.Because "WMV" is Microsoft Codec and Support in any Windows Version.I think it's a error in your Windows CD.Try installing K-light Codec pack
Or Install Windows again using other CD.

it's unbelivable dt even KM dint wrk
