It might increase the pagefile size dynamically, and might not have enough space to contiguously allocate space for the new portion. :)
So is using system managed page file on XP, not much good? Then shud we set a custom sized one?

Still, set it to a fixed amount. (i.e. starting size = maximum size = 1.5+ times more than the physical RAM)

All those screenshots are from me. Shan never said it was 384MB

You have 512MB RAM right? Recommended size = 1.5 x physical RAM.

See it shows 767MB as currently allocated. It will increase more if it ever needs more RAM. I think for 512MB RAM, it should be kept fixed at least at 1GB.
