Dinesh Gunawardana (MEP/UPFA) </p><p> JNP leader Wimal Weerawansa (280,672) has secured more preferential votes than UNP leader Ranil Wickramasingha (230,957) in Colombo.</p><p>Bandula Gunawardana who has been fiercely fighting with multi-national giants like Shell and Nestle and comprador local business mafia in order to safeguard the rights of common people (consumers) have given clear mandate by people of Colombo to continue his good work by electing him in the top half (fifth) of the list.</p><p>People of colombo has speak loud and clear !!!</p><p>The UNP crossed over former Foreign Minister of Rajapaksa Government Rohitha Bogollagama has shown his due destiny in politics. He was notorious for exorbitan expenditure and waste of public money (and tarnished charcter). He was previously elcted from Kurunagala under UNP tiket and this time parachute to Colombo for survival.</p><p>A H M Fouzi who was highlighted for inefficiency and possible corruption of Hedging deal which resulted in Billions of national money to foreign banks has mere survived in the bottom of the list. The verdict is clear. No more responsibilities to inefficient and ineffective people.</p><p>Secatry of UPFA and district leader Susil Premajayantha has hair breadth escape in to survive in the list. He is known for lazy and indifferent approach in reviving education ministry. He was more than happy to continue comprador pro western education system as oppose to comply with Mahinda Chinthana national agenda. The verdict of the people is loud and clear. We need people who implement Mahinda Chinthanaya and others must step down.</p><p>Gamini Lokuge - the last in the list. The sympathetic votes for not doing anything but being mere jack for MR ? Those who voted for Lokuge can now go into another political sleep till next election or go after him for petty political favourism. He will do nothing else for the Kasbawa electorate or people of Colombo.</p><p></p><p>Highlights of Monaragala District results for UNP</p><p>UNP managed to secure only one seat from Monaragala District. The only seat was won by Ranjith Maddamubandara who was alleged of manipulating UNP nomination list and now engaged in political and legal battle against UNP leader Ranil Wickramasingha.
