Yeah. Some kind of a inferiority complex is at work there. Its like "if you're an adult you cant watch toons".
Most people doest realize that toons are yet another medium to tell a story. Difference being that its not using live actors to tell that story.
If anyone watches the Looney Tunes, most of the joke in those are targeted for adults.
