Actually you not quoting quran its translation. i remember when teenstar gave you some videos from a scholar you said you dont want twisted views by people.
No, it's not needed at all. All Buddhists learn Buddhism through Sinhalese. Buddhism was written in Pali, but very few uses that language now. Same as for the Bible. Most people use the English translation of it. Not the original Hebrew version. If translatios were done by a qualified person, then it would be OK for me. Learning Arabic to learn Islam is a joke for me. If somebody says that I need Arabic to learn Islam or Hebrew to learn Christianity, I have a feeling that there will be some phrases that will make brows go up.

if you want to understand the context, you need to understand the original language of the book .
I said before, this is used by many muslims to cover up problamatic phrases of Quran. If Islam is a "universal" religion, it should be able to be understood universally. Not through a language that is spoken by less than 10% of world population.

if you doing it with translation you should be able to understand what a scholar says who knows the language as well..;)
So you are telling that Univeristy of Michigan does not have any experts in Arabic?

yeah i understand your worries about 500,000 SL women.we should be concerned cos they not only just working but also contributing hugely to the economy.
i personally think we should be ashamed of ourselves first place for letting this happen. we cant correct Arabs we should correct us first. we should be able to keep our ladies here with dignity. if we send and then try correcting whome their working for it want work..:no:..again my opinion
Yes, you are correct. First we should stop sending people there. Especially women. But, for people who have been victims, we need something to work on.

ur concernes about giving better health for muslim women...no comments:lol::lol:
That's because you are not aware of them. They are about 10 times more prone to hypertension, diabetes and heart attacks than general population, mainly due to lack of excercise. The reproductive health problems are a different kettle of fish.

    One question???

For example: Two sinhalese soldiers kills a non sinhalese person saying it was self defense....and its been caught on camera...that the victim was innocent...

Whom will you blame then...is it the soldiers or the whole sinhalese community?

thats ok buddy lifes like that  good luck on critisizing something you dont know even, and argueing based on some third party intepretations. but lots of people do understand it and accept it in its real meanings thats the reality...

If you cannot undestand facts then there is no use in this dialog. Muslims are prone to that kind of diseases due to their food habits and sexual habits, which are directly dictated by their religion. Ex. Unlike Buddhists and Hindus, Muslims consume a lot of meat and saturated fat. And unlike other people in SL, Muslims don't accept contraception. Both are due to religous background. First one, because Hindus and Buddhists are discouraged from eating meat. Second one, contraception is discouraged by Islam.

Anyway this is off the topic. If you want to discuss more about it, we can do it in a seperate thread.

i have to correct you here

Food habits : what dictation? islam doesnt say to eat only meat.being a religion it understands the reality.ever heard of something called food chain? do you know humans are Omnivores?
muslim population in SL is abt 8% right. im sure you can do the math comparing to meat food production level to that.
Fact for those who can think: Largest group that consumes meat or meat products in SL are sinhalease despite its discouraged by religion.

    sexual habits
: contraception haha i know from this comes.but this is myth i know sinhalese families muslim and tamil families who have more than 2 kids.
but yes islam doesnt discourage a healthy family if can be supported.
Fact for those who can think:Elders Home is a word virtually never heard in muslim society, but a big problem in other societies.mothers and farthers who gave everything for their kids are left die alone crying in their last days.

    1. Where did I say Muslims only eat meat?

    2. Sinhalese are largest consumers because they are the largest ethnic group.. Use the data called Average personal consuption of meat per day. And it has been shown Christians and Muslims consume twice more animal protein than Buddhists and Hindus.

    3. I was there after the time of Tsunami in Kinniya (on December 29th). There were 8000 homeless. People were giving food and Kiinya inhabitans were wain ing in queues. Where did I see the longest queue? Near the beef stall!!

    4. The tsunami has thrown debris that was put in to Trincomalee bay on to the shores. In Tamil and sinhala areas I saw fishing utensils thrown away. What did I see in Kinniya? besides the wrecks, thousands and thousands of bones of cattle! (I counted about 200 skulls near the Al-Hijra Muslim College which runs for a strech of 1km along the China bay)

So, dear, I have seen much more than you. First travel in SL and get a damn idea about it.

    1. Muslim families have more children than other ethnic sects. It's a fact. Out of grand multiparous women (more than 4 live births), 75% comes from Muslim areas and high land tamil areas. Get your facts correct. Refer Annual Health Bulletin.

    2. I have no stereotyped idea that having more children is bad. Show if I have stated so.

    3. Elders' home was a unknown word in Buddhist and Hndu societies as well, and well before prophet Mohammed was born. The so called Globalization is bringing about these changes.

Dude!! again im not denieing muslims consume meat. but what i'm saying is despite the fact its encouraged or discouraged by the religion, lot of people consume meat.thats the fact..worlds facing a food crysis and i'd like to see Sri lanka taking vegitarianism as a state policy..:rofl:. i guess you've have only seen things, thats all

haha Tsunami part, what you trying to say. all those people qued to buy meat after stunami died with fat related illnesses after a week?they had faced one of the greatest disarster in the history.they need to eat to survive..then you say OK no meats now will go search for fruits to eat.:eek:

ok you can blame it in globalization or "sky gona fall tomorrow..." what ever you like. but again i did give you the fact. two generations back sinhalese tamil and muslims families all had more children. i agree then there was no elders homes.

i dont know about before prophet was born.but now its a normal thing here, except for muslim community.poor parents do cry to death at a time where they need more care.you can blame the inability to protect family values on bush and skip. but its still a big shame.:no:

the thing is, seems its very hard for you to notice this things in muslims just like you notice the negative ones.No wonder you were busy counting cow bones two days after the one of the most horrifying natuarl disarster in human history.:shocked::shocked::rofl::rofl:

OK grandpa you've seen more than me...:lol:

yeah maybe some dont like things, some dont know about it, some just dont care. anyways i always think a decent discussion is a healthy thing. people who express it in a proper manner are way better that people just keep it inside and let the poison tree grow.

besides good discussions will shed some light on the subject to people who dont know about it really.

    just my opinion...:)

Dad charged with murder in bride's 'honor killing'

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A Pakistani man accused of killing his daughter because she wanted out of an arranged marriage told a judge Tuesday that he had done nothing wrong.
Chaudhry Rashid is accused of killing his daughter because she wanted to end an arranged marriage.

Chaudhry Rashid is accused of killing his daughter because she wanted to end an arranged marriage.

Chaudhry Rashid, 54, later said he was "very disturbed" and "not in a state of mind" to talk because of the death of his daughter, Sandeela Kanwal.

A somber and tearful Rashid made his first court appearance Tuesday. He was advised through an Urdu interpreter of the murder charge and his legal rights.

A judge also admonished Rashid, of Jonesboro, Georgia, to not make any statements without clearing them with his attorney.

"My client is going through a difficult time. As you can imagine, he is distraught," attorney Tammi Long said after the hearing.

When asked about Rashid's comments in court, Long said her next move was to speak with him in depth.

"We will work diligently to provide the best defense for our client against these ch

"Honor killings" -- the slaying by family members of a woman or girl thought to be bringing them shame -- are usually kept quiet, making it difficult to determine how frequently they occur.

The United Nations Population Fund estimated in September 2000 that as many as 5,000 women and girls fall victim to such killings each year.
