[Nature] Darvaz: The Door to Hell

This place in Uzbekistan is called by locals “The Door to Hell”. It is situated near
the small town of Darvaz. The story of this place lasts already for 35 years.
Once the geologists were drilling for gas. Then suddenly during the drilling they
have found an underground cavern, it was so big that all the drilling site with all
the equipment and camps got deep deep under the ground. None dared to go
down there because the cavern was filled with gas. So they ignited it so that no
poisonous gas could come out of the hole, and since then, it’s burning, already
for 35 years without any pause. Nobody knows how many tons of excellent gas
has been burned for all those years but it just seems to be infinite there.​

[Technology] World’s Largest Military Hovercraft

This is the world’s largest military hovercraft and it belongs to the Russian army.
It is armed with missiles, artillery and AA defense guns and can carry a few
heavy tanks at once. After approaching to the enemy coastline it can give a
burst of fire to tear of such fierce force that can tear big military ship apart,
then without any slowing down start moving on the shore advancing deep inside
to unload the tanks and infantry.

[History] An Ancient Fortress

Deep inside Siberia there is a lake, one of thousands others. And in the middle of
this lake there is a small island. And on this island people have found an ancient
fortress, which is dated more than 1500 years old. Excavations are needed in
order to reveal all its view for visitors, but even now from the air its a nice site
in different times of the year.​

[Art] The Half-Bridge of Hope

Deep inside Russian countryside there is a place with a strange object. It’s made
solely of wood and is called “The Half-Bridge of Hope”. It looks like a wooden
bridge from one side of hill to another which suddenly finishes on its half. It has
no any logical meaning or practical purpose, just stands in one of numerous
Russian villages as an art object, made of wood as everything other around it.​
