When I started my first blog seven years ago I fell for the idea of blogging. Even then WordPress was all used tools, and even though I tried those options, I always stuck with WordPress. Let me tell you why you are motivated to start blogging yourself.
WordPress is free, easily download the 10Mb zip-file you unpacked onto your computer and then upload it to your web domain. You are free to upload to the top level or subdirectory of your domain. Some SEO geeks recommend a site name for each blog, but I did very well creating subdirectories for each of my blogs. The choice is clearly yours. If you ever dump one of your blogs, I recommend the subdirectory for obvious reasons that you may use the Family Domain for other purposes.
Remember, content is always and always the king. People keep coming back to your blog when you create unique articles with quality content. Additionally, they can add your blog to their RSS-feed, thus ensuring traffic through quality content.
WordPress has been around for many years. In fact, on May 27th, Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little will be ten years old to launch the project. Millions of bloggers use WordPress.
You get a great control panel where you can check everything from comments waiting for moderation to new useful updates available to you. You will receive an update from the WordPress team in the lower right corner announcing new release candidates so that you are always ready for new versions to be available. There will always be three release candidates before the new official release is available. You will be happy to know that thousands of people will test this release candidates, so all the issues related to plugins or security will be well tested on different servers. This ensures that most new releases are flawless.
Even when errors are found, you can make sure that any and all issues are resolved very quickly and if you have an RSS-feed from the WordPress team in the RSS-reader you can use anything that will alert you quickly to potential issues as well. You are not creating new content for your blog.
Even now I have written 2,000+ blog articles on my various blogs, I am still amazed to see the wonders of the blog and I am sure you will like it too.
