The latest State of the Internet report from Akamai has found the global average internet connection speed in the first quarter of this year was 2.6 Mbps.
More than 666 million unique IP addresses from 238 countries and regions around the world connected to the Akamai in the first three months of this year, up nearly 14% from the previous year and up 6% from the fourth quarter of 2011.
