The Mriya Resort & Spa, some 25 kilometers from the city of Yalta in Russia's Crimea, has been recognized as Europe’s leading leisure resort of the year at the World Travel Awards.
The resort outshone hotels and resorts nominated from Portugal, Turkey, Italy and Greece.
The resort complex, designed by renowned British architect Sir Norman Foster, features private indoor and outdoor pools, billiards hall and bowling alley, cinemas, as well as one of the most complete spa offerings in Europe. The hotel is also equipped with a medical center with a wide range of services.
This year, the hotel was also nominated for the title of Europe’s leading family and luxury family resort.
