Wrong, SL has a very good tele drama culture and India can't even think about getting there even with their massive cinema capabilities. Kadulla, Kadawara, Weda Hamine, Dandubasnamanaya, Theertha Yaathrikaya, Bogala Saundiris, Esala Kaluwara are few examples for it. Indians are too un-educated to grasp the themes of tele dramas like these. They opt for cheap themes as we see in"gon-depaya". Now there is a new tele, a very good one, by Jayantha Chandrasiri, "Sathara denek senpathiyo". It is on Saturdays at 8.30. We don't watch good SL films. Have you watched "Uppalawanna" or "Nisala gira". These have very deep themes, reminiscent of Bengali cinema. Hindi themes are too monotonus and only emotional. Nothing to talk to the intellegence. So if you want to see very good themes, watch Bengali films. Ex. "Pather Panchaali" by Sathyajith Rai Once again wrong. Music of Hindi songs are based on Pakistani music and Gazzle music. Tamil films have their own Karnatic and Kannada music. What we hear from FMs are blatant copies of copies. There are a lot of songs that are novelly created here. The "Kunu" FM culture do not support them. Insted they support guys who lack creativity. Totally agreed. True machan. But still there are good things created by us. Micro is better than Maruti (if you have driven both, you know what I am talking about). That explains difference of quality between India and Sri Lanka.
