Astrologists have advised the public to refrain from coming into contact with any space debris expected to land about 65km to 100km off the Southern coast at 11:48am tomorrow.
Speaking to NewsRadio Senior Lecturer of the Physics Department of the University of Colombo Professor Chandana Jayaratne said the location of impact has been accurately predicted.
Professor Jayaratne pointed out if the object does not disintegrate upon its descent adding there is a possibility of debris making landfall. In this instance the public has been advised to refrain from coming into contact with the debris, due to possible health implications.
On a related note he said since the point of impact has been estimated; the public near the Southern coast has been advised to view the impact from a safe distance.
