Message: <blockquote data-quote="imhotep" data-source="post: 28821798" data-attributes="member: 562115">The Bambalapitiya Police has arrested a young doctor attached to the Trincomalee Hospital over the attempted murder of his wife who was residing in Layards Road, Colombo 5, through an insulin overdose.The Police launched investigations based on information that a woman residing in Layards Road, Colombo 5 was admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in a critical condition and her illness was suspicious.Police said the doctors who examined the woman had informed them that the woman had fallen ill due to an overdose of insulin medicine.Accordingly, the suspect husband was arrested by the police yesterday for allegedly injecting her with an overdose of insulin.The arrested suspect is identified as a 33-year-old resident of Layards Road, Colombo 05.A syringe suspected to have been used by the suspect to inject the insulin was also found in the suspect's house and it had been revealed that he had injected his wife with insulin a few days ago.Police said the woman is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of the Hospital and the suspect will be produced in court today.
