Lina Medina was born in Ticrapo, Peru in 1933, and in 1938, when she was five; her parents took her to the hospital because she complained of abdominal pains and of abdominal growth. The doctors first believed that she might have a tumor, but they soon discovered that she was pregnant. That’s right, she was five year old and she was pregnant. She was seven months pregnant, and on May 14, 1939, she gave birth to a baby boy. She became and she still is the youngest woman who became a mother. The doctors said that her body was way overdeveloped for her age, as her breasts have already developed, and she had a menstrual cycle as well.
Of course, now they needed to find the father, and they arrested her father for having sex with her. He was later released, as they did not have any proofs, and she did not want to say who the father was. The child was raised to believe that she was his sister, but he found out the truth when he was 10 years old. He died in 1979 at the age of 40, as he suffered from a disease which affected his bone marrow. The case was strange, but the people did not pay too much attention to it. Imagine all the attention it would have received if it would have happened in our days. Lina is still alive, but she declines to offer any interviews.
