to His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith
His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith called on the chief incumbent of the Malwatte Chapter Most Ven.Mahanayake Thimbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero and Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddha Rakkhitha Thero, the Mahanayake of the Asiriya Chapters on 17th December 2010.
The Mahanayakas were very pleased with the courtesy call of His Eminence and congratulated His Eminence on his elevation to the college of Cardinals and said " Your Eminence have brought honour and grlory not only for the Catholics in Sri Lanka but also for the whole nation. We are immensly very proud of you and look forward for very close endeavours ".
His Eminence expressed his desire to work closely with them in building a peaceful and prosperous Sri Lanka.
Newly elevated Cardinal also paid a courtesy call to Most Ven . Niyangoda Vijitha Siri Thero, the Anu Nayaka of Malwatte Chapter. His Eminence was accompanied by Ven. Bellanwila Wimalaratne Thero Chief Prelate of the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya, Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Anu Nayake Maha Thera and His Lordship Bishop Vianney Fernando, Bishop of Kandy Diocese.
