Govt.’s attacks on Gen. Fonseka comes to the open: Mervyn the vermin leads again
(Lanka-e-News -14.Oct.2009 7.00PM) The ethnic war that lasted thirty years after SL won independence was completely concluded and successfully completed by the Forces and the Govt. The dignity and honor this country acquired by this victory is being compromised now by rivalry between the high ranking Officers of the Forces and political administration.
This was corroborated by the news splashed across the media since of late, and until today it has been growing.
The biggest din on this was provided by SL’s noted Minister Dr. Mervyn Silva who is infamously famous as a pest militating against peace and calm of SL society , when he made the following remarks at a public rally yesterday (13).
Nobody can take credit for this war. There were Army Commanders during the past 30 years when the war was waged. They had guns. They had bombs. They had Naval facilities. They had aerial crafts . But the Govt. leaders did not have a backbone. They did not have vision. They did not have foresight. Of what use are Nandamitra , Welisumana if Dutugemunu was not there? Even a thousand ‘Yodhayas’ could not kill Elara. It was Gemunu who led. Mervyn made these insinuations against the Army general at the meeting.
