Today, the government of Sri Lanka has made it very clear that the Sri Lankan society of the country is very corrupted. The Ministry of Education has launched a leadership army training (training program) forcing A/L students who pass examinations to take part before entering University, clearly depicting the University as a battlefield.
This training program even though depicted as a good thing shows that the society is now corrupt beyond repair and the government actually displaying the true colors and status of the Youth in Sri Lanka.
The Training program was aired on the Government TV station which showed that the training is more similar to a army training. And that some children are mentally stressed in these situations. Its rumored that some children were severely injured.
It is a known fact that Intellectuals are never army type soldiers, its the newtons law. Knowledge does not require or physical strength, its unfair to ask physical strength from a body that is more of mentally strong. It is something the government has not understood. The government is itself of making a mockery of people, and now making a mockery of innocent students.
Government is it seems afraid of the Youth of the country. The reason is that a direct response from the government would cause these Youth to revolt, a revolt that would cause a huge battle the government would be responsible for, so the alternative is the leadership program which gives the battle to new students... so the inevitable blood bath would be on the students themselves while then the government would wash their hands clean.
His Excellency the Presidents measures are clearly becoming more of dictatorship. Doing exactly the opposite of what peoples aspirations are. A leader that does not understand the aspirations of the people because of the need for long term rule and popularity is clearly a dictator and nothing else.
I as a Citizen of the country urge all International humanitarian (no hope from the local ones, as they are well looked after) groups to respond to this outrages government who gets votes by feeding street beggars which the government has made from middle class people using various non-diplomatic methods.
