You can check the Local LAN connection Ping by,
Go to start->run->cmd prompt->type ping youripaddress or pING website name...
You can check the Website like Google,Yahoo etc Ping using the site Whoisxy.com i tested there and My results is

Pinging www.l.google.com [74.125.45.99] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 74.125.45.99: bytes=32 time=56ms TTL=53
Reply from 74.125.45.99: bytes=32 time=56ms TTL=53
Reply from 74.125.45.99: bytes=32 time=55ms TTL=53
