well, as a physicalist, I believe humans do not have minds and souls....we are nothing but just robots..some sort of robots...thoughts, feelings are brain events..and I don't believe in an additional entity-mind.

DO you ever think scientist can build a robots or some sort of robots with 100% similar to Humans someday?

What about scientist finds a way to copy you brain? ha? Just like coping a Computer Hard disk?

If all thoughts / feelings are just brain events I hope scientist can eliminate those electronic mechanism (particular brain events which cause bad feelings) which cause suffering to the human being... wow

If they can do this means all religions become false in one way or another
Since I am a Christian believer I do believe God has put something immaterial which get effected by the material Body until you die

But I respect to your ideas

Thanks for the clarification. I posted that on the forum to get the buddhists idea about it and I think I got it now :) 001flyD suggested me a book to read and I think I'll get it in few weeks when I come to Sri Lanka

You are welcome buddy. I suggest you read "What buddha taught" by Walpola Rahula Himi. 5th chapter gives a comprehensive explanation on the concept of "anatma" in Buddhism. It also explains how the concept differs from other religions.

Not sure what book shops have it. But if you ask them, they will definitely order it from you.

Here's an online link if you are interested.

    http://www.dhammaweb.net/books/Dr_Walpola_Rahula_What_the_Buddha_Taught.pdf

Machan it is a little bit complicated. But I've never seen a better book about Buddhism.

Thanks machan I'll print this PDF from office :P 65 pages is not a biggie I guess  when I come back Home I'll have a look at bookshops. Thanks again for your help :)

    why would I tell you

I also had thought that we all are robots and someone has programmed us and they let us to change our code little bit too.But now I know there isnt anyone who has made this. This is automatically created and improved itself to a great level of complexity. That s why we tended think that we all are created by some one.I believe in buddha. But I am pretty sure that the noble truth(Dharmaya) has been changed.Otherwise at least few of us will be able to get nirwanaya.

Do not forget when you say program there should be a programmer

    dna2.jpg

DNA in our cells is very similar to an intricate computer program. In the photo on the left, you see that a computer program is made up of a series of ones and zeros (called binary code). The sequencing and ordering of these ones and zeros is what makes the computer program work properly.

In the same way, DNA is made up of four chemicals, abbreviated as letters A, T, G, and C. Much like the ones and zeros, these letters are arranged in the human cell like this: CGTGTGACTCGCTCCTGAT and so on. The order in which they are arranged instructs the cell's actions.

What is amazing is that within the tiny space in every cell in your body, this code is three billion letters long!!2

To grasp the amount of DNA information in one cell, "a live reading of that code at a rate of three letters per second would take thirty-one years, even if reading continued day and night."3 Wait, there's more.

It has been determined that 99.9% of your DNA is similar to everyone's genetic makeup.4 What is uniquely you comes in the fractional difference in how those three billion letters are sequenced in your cells.

The U.S. government is able to identify everyone in our country by the arrangement of a nine-digit social security number. Yet, inside every cell in you is a three-billion-lettered DNA structure that belongs only to you. This code identifies you and continually instructs your cells' behavior.

    (1) Absolutely Nothing never existed. If it had, there would still be Absolutely Nothing now. But Something Else exists. You, for example.

    (2) Since Absolutely Nothing never existed, there was always a time when there was something in existence. This something we can call the Eternal Something. The Eternal Something has no beginning and no end, has no needs that It Itself cannot meet, can do whatever is possible that can be done, and will always be superior to anything It produces.

    (3) The Eternal Something is not a machine, controlled or programmed by any force outside Itself. And the Eternal Something will not produce out of necessity, since It has no needs. Therefore, if It produces Something Else, It must decide to do so. That means that the Eternal Something has a will; thus, It is personal. Therefore, the Eternal Something must actually be an Eternal Someone (or Someones).

    What does the bible says?

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. (Psalms 90:2)

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. (Isaiah 40:28)

"This is what the LORD says -- Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God." (Isaiah 44:6)

But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. (Jeremiah 10:10)

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am." (John 8:58)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8)

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." (Revelation 22:13)
