Your Guinea Pigs' Home

when making a cage for yr piggy ..
Bigger is better! For the health and well-being of your guinea pigs, they need a lotta space to move about .. Follow the minimum cage size standards of 7.5 or 10.5 square feet and you will see your own guinea pig's behavior improve significantly. Enjoy the new antics of your happier, healthier, and perkier guinea pigs in their proper environment.

Cage Size Standards


for one gini piggy.. minimum wud be 7.5 sq ft but more is better but

two gini piggys again 7.5 sq ft wud be minimum and grnerally 10.5 sq feet wud be better ..

3 piggys minimum 10.5 sq ft and the preferred size wud be 13 sq feet

4 piggys minimum 13 sq ft and again the biger the better !!



*Warning: Babies, very young or very small guinea pigs, and pregnant mothers require some temporary additional height on the sides of the cage (it's easy to do).

The good thing about guinea pigs is that they are tiny fellas and not all that big on climbing or chewing, and are not likely to climb or jump over a wall that is reasonable height (18 inches should contain most pigs).

bedding !!

guinea pigs are cuddly pumpkins hu really like sleeping on cozy beds .. so u gotta make sure the bedding is really cosy for them..
u can use

hay

(a layer of paper underneath will help with absorbency)

or .. some comfy pieces of cloth ..

Toys

guinea pigs find it really exciting to play hide and seek.. so Paper bags make good toys/hides, and crumpled paper, cardboard boxes, balls, wood blocks, hard plastic cat and rabbit toys, fleece tunnels, small fleece blankets, willow rabbit toys, and hanging bird toys might also interest your guinea pigs. Just make sure there are no small parts that might come off or get chewed off and swallowed.

Wheels and exercise balls are not recommended; many experts believe that guinea pig bodies are not designed for this kind of exercise and the risk of injury is too great. Try to provide exercise using other means.​
