Is there a one story driven for whole series(24) or new story per each episodes(X files) ?
no idea what that is. There's one main story with each episode adding parts to the main story and having mini stories in each episode.

have you seen x files? it had one main story line for most of the seasons, with stand alone episodes known as monster of the week here and there. the mythology episodes were quite good until like the 5th season.

nice sci-fi theme and gud acting ... but some times little boring though.. expected little more
the mythology episodes were quite good until like the 5th season.
- Some series build its story orderly by Initializing , developing and finally ending the same story
- Some like Mentalist produce a whole new story on each episodes
- Some like Fringe initialize a story which appeared to be a completely new story and evolve it to the point which can be connected to the core/main story, developed by previous episodes
I think X files falls under case 2 or 3
And case 3 kind of series are preferable to me, according to the degree or strength that each episode bear to its main story and how they connect it.
If you are saying X file belongs to type 2 then definitely I dont like it .
If its type 3 either I dislike how they connected or since I watched it long time ago I wasnt grown enough as I do now.
