Kollonawa tense, mobs clash with police

A tense situation has arisen in the Kollonawa area following the killing of former MP and advisor to President Mahinda Rajapaksa Baharatha Lakshman Premachandra earlier in the afternoon.

Unruly mobs are reported to have torched a police vehicle and are clashing with commandos from the elite Special Task Force (STF).

The army has been called to assist the police in bringing the situation under control.

Official announcement will come later on...probably after the curfew comes into effect....he was being given CPR on admission too....that's given when Heart stops beating on its own.....The docs are following the ICU protocol of announcing a death...
