First of all, I must say that I have nothing against the above institution. This is an honest review of the SPOKEN ENGLISH course (I don't know about the other courses) I am writing this review hoping to help anyone who is planning to follow the course. (This is my view only and your needs may vary.)

I am currently doing the Intermediate level but find it low standard. It is a 4 month course. The class goes for 2 hours and in almost half of those two hours we are asked to read passages from their interactive CD (Prepared by Noeline Honter) slowly and at normal pace. (I think their idea was to practice pronunciation but I find it less productive). The teacher in the class hardly teaches anything but rather runs the CD and guides the speaking activities. (Hardly anything is written and I find it good for a spoken English class)

The speaking activities, to my understanding should be re-formulated for effectiveness. This is the part of the class where most of the speaking experience is had but it is hindered by the varied levels of English fluency of the students.

The classrooms are well equipped and comfortable. (The only plus point from me)

If I rate the class, it would be like 3.5/10

You might be thinking why I continue to go to this class if I don't like it. It is because they ask you to pay half the course fee on the first day. (On the first day, we are paying the registration fee, fee for first month and the fee for the LAST (fourth) month. So we'll have to pay again for the 2nd month if you continue the class for 4 weeks). So clearly I've been trapped.

What made me go to this place was the brilliant advertising. I am quite OK with my written and just needed to improve my spoken. I hope this review helps some people. But as I said earlier, your needs may be different. If you found this helpful leave a comment. Or just bump it for others' sake.

well, If you've got a problem with their teaching methods, this is hardly the place to complain.
may be e-mail the above post to their management? it might prove to be really 'effective' AND 'productive'

Why the hell do you need to go to these English lessons if you could write so well in English?

No no man. You've misunderstood me. I just wrote this for the others. If I had seen something like this before I went to that class, I wouldn't have gone there. There is no use complaining there. If I wanted to do so, I would have. I won't, because it won't do any good. Just trying to helps somebody out.:)

other people probably are finding their ways of teaching quite effective. so I don't know, you may be ruining it for the people who would otherwise go there and Learn something. :P

Well the real change can be done only with good and experienced but teachers who have interesting teaching skills...:)

they can teach something very easily and the class flows like nothing but with great knowledge gained...

that's the resource the management must pay and get to the institution...:)

I have not said anything biased above. I have, to my knowledge, described the class as it is. If somebody is hoping to go there, at least they'll check it out first without being a fool like me.:P

yours is a subjective opinion, pretty much biased. :) there may be people who thought they taught pretty interestingly. and they may encourage people to go. see how contrary?
and when it comes to something like English I'd rather suggest self studying. that's prolly what you need.
when you took up the course you, I believe, were well aware of the risk. so you should bite the bullet and sit thru the rest of the class, picking up whatever little things you may, or forget the dough and find another course, and next time, do discuss their teaching techniques with the responsible parties. :baffled:
