How to play Counter Strike 1.6 online?

hello aiyas and akkis!
I'm new to this forums, just 5 minutes old lol..
I'm 15 years old and study @alethea International

My question is, how do i play CS 1.6 online?
Is there anyway i can play with my Dial up connection (airtel and Dialog)
if yes, how can i play? Where can i download Cs and how do i play online?

1) Download CS 1.6 - v40

2) Here is the list of Sri Lankan Servers

SRI LANKAN SERVERS

After you install the game .... Run the regedit if it asks for a serial key

3) Go to Servers in the Game Menu
4) Select Add Favorite and then Add the IP's One by one to your favorites.
5) Go to the server and enjoy
6) In case if the Favorites Doesn't work ... Open Console (Hit ~ button)
7) Type - Connect [WHATEVER IP ADDRESS HERE]
8) If the server is using a password
Type - Connect [IP ADDRESS];password [SERVER PASSWORD]

Hit Enter and you are good to go

P.S - Best way to Get in Contact with other CS players in SL is thru steam client (Just as Xfire - A Gaming Communication Platform) - LINK

You can ask for private server passwords once you get to know the people. Buy the Original Game if you are good at it (Through Steam Platform)

You can play but the pings will be so high than other SLT users - Normally SLT Users Getting a 10-60 ms ping (Latency Between Client And Server) depending on their connection. But when you use Dialog or Airtel it is in between of 90 - 600 ms. It varies alot (Not Stable). Above 150 is normally Unplayable but i have seen some people playing with 300 ping ..

Dialog is better than Airtel when it comes to play CS using dongles

If the game is unplayable with Flush Entity Packets. Try these commands in your console (Hit ~).

cl_cmdrate 30
cl_updaterate 30
rate 25000

Only if you are playing Competitively. First try Non steam - if you are good then go for steam

thanks for the help guys! i really appreciate it..
I used my airtel to play Cs and i get pings like 80-120 (Sri-Lankan servers)
It is playable though,can someone tell me how to make a private server?

When i go to the file location, and click on "hlds" it says half life dedicated server error. and i know the version i downloaded, does not include half life..
anyone?
