According the this, children who studied Christianity in English have now been forced to study the entire subject in Sinhala with less than a month to the G. C. E. (O/L) exams. Compiling a lot of events including the resent Protest by Monks in front of the Archdiocese of Colombo it is clear that entities are at work to cause a religious dispute within the country. This must be immediately addressed before it goes out of hand with would mean a Holy War at the end of the civil war which none of want

Remember that failing Sinhala children and passing Tamil children at Exams was one reason that sparked the civil war. It is the responsibility of Authorities to be responsible in there actions.


EDIT : If this goes unanswered parents can file a court case and obtain a Ricter order to hold the G. C. E. (O/L) examination until the Ministry of Education proves no wrong doing is done to that child.

Well many thousands of children have been thought English Medium Christianity, including the Rawatawatte Daham Pasal at Moratuwa. Now many parents consider this a need. So there is no question mark and no ifs to consider. As its about children being able to sit for the Christianity Religion paper or not. There is actually no point in English medium if there is an inability to provide all subjects. There are no excuses.

Remember that they did NOT say that English Christianity will not be available to children. This calamity could have been avoided if they did. Now however its too late.

The other factor is that children once their main stream becomes English, like the old people who know Sinhala better because their mainstream was Sinhala, writing Sinhala becomes short of a challenge. Also remember that Christianity especially is more close to English as Sinhala is a translation of English.

if this school administration had made the applications for those children in time as appropriately to the examination department, how could a such issue arise at the verge of examination.

Apparently the Exam department ask asked students now to withdraw there Examination applications.... which means that they allowed them to select it, now refuse to give it.
