If you are unable to ride a bike through the country, the best method is to come through a tourism company. They will arrange all your accommodation, visits & tour.
go to our websites of archaeological department, ministry of tourism & ceylon hotels coperation. They will give you a good information about SL.
There are so many Chinese people in SL, came for various development projects. Ti's better if you can make contacts with them also.

1, Is it safe for a foreigner to travel in the former Tamil Tiger Zone?
2, Do I need a license to drive a motorbike? If no, then 3&4
3, Where to buy a (new or 2nd hand) motorbike in Colombo, if possible, also tell me the average price. In China, a brand new manual motorbike cost about 800 USD.
4, Where to rent a motorbike in Colombo?

Actually some of my friends have been Sri Lanka before, they told me how beautiful your country was, and show me the photos, wow, really wonderful.
Currently I have no international driving license so it seems I'd better not to travel by motorbike.
I don't know but if it is possible, I prefer to travel by motorbike, when I travel in southeast asia I rent a motorbike and drive it here and there, in the rent shop they didn't ask for the license, and no policeman checked it. The only explanation is law is different in different counties.
And ... badu pot? sorry I don't know what is badu pot.

Foreigners come rarely to this site. It's just that some of our guys got a little bit over excited. Just having fun on their way.

1- Its Extremely Safe to Visit any part of Sri lanka anytime and we can proudly say Sl is now one of the Safest countries in the world

2 - Yes u need to obtain DL but for a non Sri lankan its not recommend to Ride a Motor bike cus Traffic is high and need some skills to Ride in Sl, but u can use tuk tuks as primary transportation or meter taxi service using indian cars for cheep

3 U can buy a bike for 80K and look for classifieds for places and details

It is safe now. You can travel anywhere in the country. There are some traveling packages you can buy from those tourism companies. I think thats the best way to travel inside sri lanka. They will help you to discover a lot of places that you would be interested in.
