The supreme court of Sweden has announced that the founders of the Pirate Bay will not be able to appeal their prison sentences or fines, making the ruling final.
As previously reported, Peter Sunde is up for eight months in jail, Fredrik Neij is looking at ten months and Carl Lundström will only serve four months. The fourth defendant, Gottfrid Svartholm, wasn't able to make the hearings, claiming medical circumstances, but also failed to appear at a subsequent hearing, making his one-year sentence permanent.
The four will also share combined fines of 46 million kronor (around £4.3 million), though it seems unlikely that the full figure will be recouped from the defendants.
