The world’s largest bus is going to be used in both Beijing and Hangzhou, where the need for public transportation grows with its population.
According to 2010 census report, the population of Beijing is over 1.3 billion. It is important that the world’s populous country seeks roads for its public transportation.
One such advancement is the unveiling of the world’s largest bus. The Youngman JNP6250G measures in at over 82 feet long, is 13 meters longer than average buses, and can carry up to 300 passengers. A fleet of Youngmans will soon begin operation in China’s Bus Rapid Transit service in Beijing and Hangzhou, two of China’s most populous urban living centers.
Even though the Youngman JNP6250G is only able to attain a top speed of 50 mph that doesn’t necessarily make it a slower alternate form of transportation. Plans are being made for the new Superliner to have its own lane in local highways.
As China continues to grow and expand, so too will its population, so it’s certainly commendable that the government is at least looking to solve its growing transportation issues.
