PM advises to relocate Dambulla Mosque in different location and muslim devotees in a action plan for new mosque

Minister of Budda Sasana and Religious Affairs Prime Minister D M Jayaratna states that measures have been taken to relocate the mosque which was being constructed within the Rangiri Dambulu sacred site.

Issuing a statement the Prime Minister’s office stated that the premier has instructed officials to relocate the mosque in a different location and provide Muslim devotees with all necessary facilities.


The statement also says this decision was taken after discussions held between the Prime Minister and Senior Minister AHM Fowzie, Governor of the Western Province Alavi Mowlana, Deputy Minister Abdul Carder and ALM Hisbullah in Gampola this morning.


The prime minister also denounced attempts made to create unrest between nationalities at a time when Islamic nations around the world were expressing solidarity to Sri Lanka.

Terroist Buddist Racist Monk should stop hate crime. Can u relocate Dalada Maligava. Why fire bomb mosque and tell them to move. This is nothing but what LTTE did to Muslims. Buddhist Monks are following the same path of LTTE. Why create hate which is easy. When mutual harmony exists. There is no way Sri Lanka can succeed in UNHCR next time. The world is watching. Why not relocate all Buddhist temples from Colombo? Because we Muslims had a fort in those times before Portuguese. It is Muslim land. Think before you talk.
