ICS Sri Lankan updagrade instructions

1. Installation :

1.a Pre installation : (For clean installation, optional)
- Make backup with TB or other same app (If needed).
- First flash to Indian GB ROM if you are on any other ROM
- Recovery((Vol up + Home + Power)) -> wipe cache, data
- check for CSC (*#272*IMEI#) if not SLK, set it.
Who wants OTA update, check it now, install them if available(now LC1 available)

1.b Final Installation
- Download ICS ROM, and extract it to .tar file
- Download Odin, open it
- select PDA tab and point to ROM file. Leave Re-partition, pit, CSC, Phone tab unticked (see Image below)
- Switch off device, Put in download mode (Vol down + Home + Power)
- completely close kies, Anti virus if running
- Connect device to PC
- ID com port should turn yellow (not shown in image)
- Now hit Start

- After reboot, you will see screen showng android updating, then will install some application.

2. Rooting

- Download the [CWM zip] and put in your Ext SDCARD ] And [ SU-Busybox-Installer.zip] to SD card (internal memory)
- Reboot to recovery.
- Choose apply update from external storage. (use vol up/down to select, power to enter)
- Choose CWM.zip and wait until CWM recovery appear.
- Choose install zip from sdcard or external SD(Now use touch function to select choice)
- Choose and Install SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
- Reboot
- You are done and now your device is Rooted

3. How to Install SuperSU N remove super user (get it from here)(Optional)
- Copy SuperSU zip in SD card
- Again enter into recovery
- Install superSU.zip just like you install SU-Busybox in step 2
- Reboot
- This will replace Superuser with super SU

4. Remove unwanted Samsung apps (optional)
- Install TB from Play Store
- Restore previous backups (If any)
- Remove unwanted Samsung apps
- All weather and news apps
- All Chinese apps (zenio, etc)
- Remove all hubs (reader, media)
- Remove all stating with SNS (SNS*)
- And many more (I can't remember)
- Ask me, before removing any other apps, if you don't know exactly what it is
- Edit: Got a very good list of GNote stock applications. read this before removing apps.
