Why is the Buddhist world silent?
Why is there no mechanism in the Buddhist world to help fellow Buddhists in other countries?
Myanmar throughout its history has been a Buddhist country.
It is a leading Theravada Buddhist Country.
Shouldn't the Buddhists in other countries close ranks with Buddhists in Myanmar, like the Muslims and Christians always do when it comes to protecting Islamic and Christian interests worldwide?
Sri Lanka's English language press is a disgrace.
It will never support a Buddhist cause, locally or internationally.
It will never draw public attention to dangers to Buddhism whether in Sri Lanka or overseas.
It will never support the strengthening of links between Sri Lanka and other pre -dominant Buddhist countries.
Anybody who raises the issue of the need to protect Buddhism in public stands to be branded as a Buddhist extremist and rabble rouser.
A number of prominent local journalists in English language newspapers are either hostile or indifferent to issues of concern to Buddhists.
It is from the internet that we learn of Buddhism in other countries.
To the Editors of local newspapers international Buddhist news is no news.
'Daily News' openly distorts Lankan history with articles meant to create doubt on historical events that are settled and indisputable.
Most of the local english newspapers pay lip service to press freedom. What we see is just the opposite.
Abuse of Press Freedom
Arakkan in Burma was once a Buddhist Kingdom.
It is no longer in the hands of Buddhists today.
To protest and defend Buddhist rights and territory in Burma is now called a violation of human rights.
When will Sri Lanka's turn come for our Buddhists to raise the Barricades?
