Matchanla, I need to know if I take Maths instead of Physics in A/L, is it okay to enter Medicine at Uni? I am better in Math than Physics, that is why I am planing to take BIO, CHEM and MATHS in A/L, and my aim is Medicine

problem abt taking maths instead of physics is the medical council. If u r planning to practise medicine in sl u have to sit for ACT 16 exam.In that case medical council will not accept maths.U have to check weather u r eligible to sit for act 16.it's also kind of hard to find uni that accept maths instead of phy.i mean a lot of good uni will not accept maths.they do accept both maths n phy.try taking both the subject so even if u get a little low grade in phy maths will help u to achieve it.these things r only if u r going abroad.if it is uni in sl then u must take phy.

Thanks for all replies. Now I can see that even if I managed get in to a uni abroad for medicine without Physics, I will have problem working in SL due to Medical Council's regulations.

Any more information on this subject will be helpful to me.

If u want to work as a doctor in SL u have to sit for Act 16 exam. All cannot sit for it.You have to check whether u r eligible for that. That means u should get at least 2C and 1D or 1s in A/L.This is all only if u r going to work in SL.If u r going to work abroad then medical councils in those countries don't care about ur A/L results.Even if u do take Maths instead of Phy it doesn't matter as long as ur uni accept it.They will check only ur degree. From where u have obtained it.From which university. That means weather u really studied there and this is a valid degree. If u have any more questions ask me.
