Grand Torino did the same thing I guess. Only difference I loved it.

It was pretty close to this kind and way better.

Grand torino was similar but it didn't have the quality taxi driver did..not that maturity anyway. Grand torino used the shock value so the film won't be lost on people with low attention span. it was a good film anyways.

Haven't seen the other one I guess.

When it comes to self redemption films, Taxi driver and Paris, Texas win hands down
