Meanwhile, in Colombo, Mirror Business, one of the leading business dailies in Sri Lanka highlighted the fact that the aircraft disappeared, a day after the signing of South Asia-Middle-East-Western Europe-5 (SEA-ME-WE 5) undersea cable system, a multi regional superhighway spanning some 20,000km from Asia Pacific to Europe via Sri Lanka, with the participation of 15 leading telecom operators.
It pointed out that about 10% of the passengers of the MAS aircraft which disappeared were top telecom executives.
Quoting international news agency, it noted that China Telecom Global's Network Planning Vice-President Hualian Zhang was among the passengers. – Bernama
