Bomb explosion in Colombo, EPDP paramilitary official wounded

A senior EPDP official and six others were wounded in a bomb explosion in Colombo around 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. The EPDP official, Sankarapillai Sivathasan, a long time EPDP advisor, a relative of EPDP leader Douglas Devandanda, and a former parliamentarian of the EPDP, was rushed to Colombo hospital. The explosion took place opposite a restaurant on Dickmans Road in Bambalapitya.

EPDP is a paramilitary group working with the Sri Lanka Army military intelligence in the Northeast SLA controlled territories and an ally of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse.
