It is not how much you spend on the education but the quality of the lecturers and students.
According to your theory we should get better politicians if we increase their allowances...

Who says that government universities are lack of facilities and qualified staff?? As I know in Jpura most of our lectures an professors are well qualified.I dont think any private institute in Sri lanka have that much human resources. When talking about physical resources, well we might not have facilities like universities in developing countries but still our researches do a great service using those limited resources.Thats why our undergraduates are well accepted when applying for a postgraduate in developed countries.I have noticed in these forums people are underestimating government universities just by considering web rankings. Those ranking dose not tell everything about a university's status. For an example Colombo science faculty has a huge recognize in science world. Its true that our art graduates dose not have job opportunities because of their outdated systems. But its unfair to treat all government university students like that. You have to admit most of the bes brains in Sri Lanka still in government universities
That is a poor example bro.
anyway to increase the quality of Sri Lankan education system they should also raise more funds to the education system.it not all about that.but it is fact out of a lot.![]()
Yes may be Sri Lankan Medical degree has some problems.Because most of the countries follows 7 year medical programs but our universities still offers 5 year degree programs. But still our medical gradates has a good reputations in other countries. Both as doctors and researches.Because our medical students have cover a very tough program to get their MBBS.When talking about Ragging non of medical or science faculties in sri lanka (except peradeniya science and rajarta) have ragging.

(pun intended)Because our medical students have cover a very tough program to get their MBBS.
What is rasing more funds for education system (consider university only) ? Build more buildings? Build more facilities? Increase the lecturer salary? Increase the student allowances?
Even then the current lecturer staff doesn't have to change their attitude and way of teaching. Which means they will get more money for what they doing now. Total waste of money.
If we need to increase the quality of the university education we need to increase the efficiency and knwoldege of the current lecturers or hire new ones.
Yeah true they should also hire new lecturers, train the existing lecturers more as well as give more facilities etc.also if the existing lecturers do not change their attitude they should sack them! for all these things you need to spend money. you can't hire people without money right. to say again raising funds is one thing not everything

What a hilarious excuse. Those doctors and med. students can go on strikes about saving the public education system but have no guts to ask to increase their medical degree by two years.
What do you think other countries do not have a "tough" programs to train their doctors? If so there should be catastrophic faliures in medicine in other countries compared to Sri Lanka.

What I am telling bro is raising funds is only ONE THING NOT EVERYTHING!Yeah true they should also hire new lecturers, train the existing lecturers more as well as give more facilities etc.also if the existing lecturers do not change their attitude they should sack them! for all these things you need to spend money. you can't hire people without money right. to say again raising funds is one thing not everything

You know what is the real problem in university education? It is the lecturers. They have organized in such a way that not even the government try to touch their interests.
Look at the 6% FUTA campaign. They were capable of closing the entire universites system for 3 months without breaking a sweat. But the blame went for the government.
Those lecturers do not want to change. They are bunch of lazy bums. They take 100,000 of salaries but do almost nothing. They also do not want to change their way of life for the betterment of the university education.
So it need a radical actions to change all this. I do not think any government will do that.
Yeah lot depends on lecturers.Unless they don't change nothing will be changed.IT is higly unlikely that these people will change unless a miracle happens.hari hari bolau gov univesity chater
