I'm searching for a clear view to choose a private engineering university to get in.
But with many conflicting opinions & myths I can't find a one,feeling like lost.
Options are SLIIT(4year local degree by SLIIT),SAITM,CINEC

I want to know what is the good institute if I'm doing Mechatronics/Mechanical engineering.

# Want to know about each of their recognition of degree/recognition of degree in job market local & abroad.
#teaching quality of each of 'em/like who give the standard correct education:confused::confused:

**SAITM/CINEC institutes make students learn in abroad in part,
So when doing SLIIT 4year full local degree, is there disadvantage/deficiency or something like that (in practical experience /course content)?

**CINEC provide only 3year BEng degree, so to have IESL have to do 1year of MEng,
So is there any difference? what is the difeerence/advantage/disadvantage getting IESL by doing 4year BSc Eng and by 4year MEng(3year BEng+1year MEng) ??

**if studied 4year BSc Eng, it takes another 1 year to have a MSc. But If do BEng in 3years it take only complete 4years to have a MEng,
So is 4year MEng more recognized than 4year BSc or same position?
If it is not, is it a advantage to complete Masters in 4years by doing BEng more than completing Masters in 5years doing BSc? (as it is less time)

    My opinion is SAITM
    Most people know SLIIT ... its famous in sri lanka... but SAITM degree holders can get IESL directly .. no worrys

    # Want to know about each of their recognition of degree/recognition of degree in job market local & abroad.

    No one giving you a job according to the university or class... you have to find one ... its depend on your luck... and if you have skills you can become a CEO

    #teaching quality of each of 'em/like who give the standard correct education

    All three is giving good quality of education ... no offence

    :confused::confused:

    **SAITM/CINEC institutes make students learn in abroad in part,

    SAITM foreign study part is so damn good... coz you can learn in a foreign country

    So when doing SLIIT 4year full local degree, is there disadvantage/deficiency or something like that (in practical experience /course content)?

    still SLIIT is ongoing there 1 st year... to achive IESl they need to discuss and negotiate with IESL .. it will take long

    Most uk universities have BEng + MEng .. they call it franchise/sandwich courses

    and be careful MEng is not a post graduate masters ... its a undergraduate master program... IESL is still not considering 3 year +1 year = 4 year ... They are now working according to the Washington accord ..

    even if you did MSC(post graduate) after BEng, its really hard to get IESL

    If you got IESL you got reputation as a qualified engineer ... otherwise in sri lanka.. it is a shame

    Its hard to survive in sri lanka without IESL

    by the way fuck IESL ... I hate them

    and also you need 4 year degree for apply for the good foreign graduate engineer position

    **if studied 4year BSc Eng, it takes another 1 year to have a MSc. But If do BEng in 3years it take only complete 4years to have a MEng,

    again I have to tell you MSC is a postgraduate... MEng is under graduate

    so getting 4 year + mSC is soo damn good

    So is 4year MEng more recognized than 4year BSc or same position?

    no i dont think so... same qualification ... no use in sri lanka.. even other countries

    If it is not, is it a advantage to complete Masters in 4years by doing BEng more than completing Masters in 5years doing BSc? (as it is less time)

    you askiing again anad again the same damn thing... please do direct 4 year SAITM

    doing 3 +1 year is not suitable for sri lanka

    dont put your life in a risk

    "M.Eng" stands for "Master of Engineering" it's a level 7 qualification, it definitely NOT an undergraduate degree, it's a post graduate degree.

    "Mech. Eng" stands for "Mechanical Engineering" it's just a field you can study.

    There are some useful information and abbreviations you should and should have known as a person who starts an undergraduate degree program who's aim is to read for a postgraduate degree program after the level 6.

    -----------

    "PhD" or "D.Eng" --
    level 8 Qualification - Doctorate - Postgraduate level

    "M.Sc" or "M.Eng"
    -- level 7 Qualification - Postgraduate level

    "B.Sc" or "B.Eng" -- level 6 Qualification - Undergraduate level

    "Mech. Eng" -- "a field of study".

    -------------

    PhD -- Doctor of Philosophy
    D.Eng -- Doctor of Engineering
    M.Sc -- Master of Science
    M.Eng -- Master of Engineering
    B.Sc -- Bachelor of Science
    B.Eng - Bachelor of Engineering
    Mech. Eng - Mechanical Engineering
    HND - Higher National Diploma

    ------------

    There are alot of alternative paths you can have to reach your destination ...

    1) A/L --> B.Sc ( 3 or 4 yrs) --> M.Sc (1 or 2 yrs) --> PhD (3 to 9 yrs)

    2)
    A/L --> B.Eng ( 3 or 4 yrs) --> M.Eng (1 or 2 yrs) --> D.Eng (3 to 9 yrs)

    3) O/L --> HND (1 to 3 yrs) --> B.Sc (Exempted to do second year or final year)
    --> M.Sc (1 or 2 yrs) --> PhD (3 to 9 yrs)

    4) NCT or any other relevant & equivalent Qualification
    --> HND (1 or 2 yrs) --> B.Sc (Exempted to do second year or final year) --> M.Sc (1 or 2 yrs) --> PhD (3 to 9 yrs)

    ha ha, haters will hate ..
    Both M.Eng and
    M.Sc are well respected Masters Qualifications in level 7 which are postgraduate degrees.

    Are you sure you're talking about the M.Eng (Master of Engineering) and not Mech. Eng (Mechanical Engineering) ??

    Unlike our SL degrees which takes 4 yrs to complete, Undergraduate level 6 UK degrees are offered as 3 year degree programs, So, B.Sc is also the same. It takes 3 years to complete a B.Sc degree.

    My opinion is, not to follow any of the programes offered by SLIIT, CINEC & SAITM. They have some issues with their quality in various aspects.

    Make a telephone call to ICBT, ACBT, APIIT and ask them if they offer any degree program of the field you want to study. And tell them to email you the information you need, they will more than happy to send you all the information you need. They offer Respected British & Australian qualifications which are UGC approved, which you can apply to any kind of Sri Lankan government gazetted job vacancy and foreign vacancies. Most of the time Degree programs are conducted by foreign lecturers from UK or Australia, sometimes local university professors etc. And Masters programs are conducted by
    foreign lecturers of Universities from UK or Australia etc. Although you do the degree programs in Sri Lanka, they register you as a internal student in the foreign University, So, the degree certificates will come directly from the UK or Australia and will not mention anything about the local institute on the certificate. It'll mention that you're a internal student, who studied at the particular University in Australia or UK. After completion you can attend the graduation ceremony in University located in UK or Australia as an internal student. Or you can just attend the local graduation ceremony organized by the local Institute in SL.
