no that's not my point.i'm also saying the same thing as you're saying.currently i'm also up to date with new technologies in SE field.But i think everyday we can't learn new technologies.Because we should have a life ;)

    Depends on how you define life. There are great companies that allow you to maintain a great work-life balance. The problem is probably in the company you are working for.
    I for example work about 15hours a week, have 15 a week for paid consulting and open source work. Much better than a 40/week office jobs.
