Also, there isn't much emphasis on mental health in sri lanka. Average sri lankan thinks a person is either perfectly normal or a crazy that should be in mental hospital, they they aren't aware about complex mental situations that people go through.

I think they do not talk about suicide incidents in news for some reasons. so this could be true.
