Chief Software Architect - $50/hr
Qualifications for this Opportunity
A successful Chief Software Architect at GFI will demonstrate the following qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
At least 8 years of experience in hands-on Delphi programming on Windows environments
Mastery of current enterprise software technologies and development practices/tools, including virtual environments, source control, remote development, issue tracking, build and test automation, and networking management
Highly advanced proficiency in the following skills and technologies is required:
Delphi XE
Project JEDI Libraries such as JCL, JWAPI and JWSCL
Low level programming in Delphi on Windows, eg consuming COM objects from Delphi code
Relational databases such as SQL server, Oracle, MySQL, etc
Design patterns and EDA
Test automation and TDD – writing unit tests and automated functional tests
Networking, including familiarity with RFCs, network protocols such as IP, TCP, DNS, HTTP, LDAP and others, and other network related technologies
Proficiency in at least one of C++ or C# development on Windows is also mandatory
Proficiency in the following would also be a plus:
VBScript
Windows Installer / WIX
Linux package managers and shell scripting
A true “roll up the sleeves and get it done” working approach; No task is “below you”, including testing your own work, and writing and debugging unit and integration tests
Demonstrated success as a problem solver, operating as a result-oriented, self-starter
Comfort “working virtually” with teammates and customers around the world.
